'New Moon' cast Celebrates T-Mobile Sidekick Launch

We didn't think it was possible for New Moon's Alex Meraz to look quite as sexy fully-clothed while out and about at the T-Mobile Sidekick LX Launch party. But he and Q'orianka Kilcher were definitely a stunning couple on the red carpet for the event. Alex's New Moon co-star Nikki Reed was in attendance as well, and looked stunning.

New Moon Newbie: I Am Not a Werewolf!

The Twilight sequel isn't even out until this November, but Alex Meraz, costar of the second film in the series, is already getting hated on!

In New Moon, sexy Meraz plays the most volatile werewolf in the wolf pack.

"Someone started yelling at me because they didn't like my character," Meraz told us last night at a Carrera Vintage Sunglasses party at the Chateau Marmont hotel.

"I play a bad boy, so she got mad at me," he added. "She said, 'I hate you, Paul!' That was the craziest thing for me—being confused for a character."

Meraz's response to the hater?...

"I yelled back at her, 'I love you, too!'" he said.

Not only good-looking, but he's charming, too, and already one of the gang on the set! Uh-oh, is Meraz about to give Rob Pattinson a run for his money in the sex symbol department?

"Rob's just kind of soaking it up for everyone," Meraz said. "I'm happy to have just a smidgen of what he's got...I'm not worried about being a sex symbol."

It sounds like Meraz will be around for awhile. He kind of revealed that he may already be signed on to reprise his role in the third Twilight flick. "The next movie we're doing is Eclipse, so I'll wait to read the book a couple weeks before we start doing it, so I can really focus on it," Meraz said. "I don't want to spread myself too thin."

'Wolf pack' actors grin and bare it for 'New Moon'

We have finally have a good preview of the wolf pack in New Moon. Looks like they have a symbol just like the Cullens. But instead of a crest, they have tattoos on their right shoulder.


Step aside, aloof vampires with all your undead issues. The wolf pack is ready to howl.

Unlike cold-blooded neck biters, these poster guys for animal magnetism are hot. So hot that their temperature runs a steady 108 degrees, as anyone who has read Stephenie Meyer's series of gothic romances knows.

That gives them a great excuse to doff their shirts on-screen and expose the physiques they've been pumping up for playing werewolves in The Twilight Saga:New Moon, the sequel to last year's supernatural sensation, due Nov. 20.

Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off.

Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks.

"It's not pleasant for the actors," says director Chris Weitz. "But they have all been good-natured. They show up on location in drenching, cold rain, and I say, 'OK, off with the robes.' "

Alex Meraz welcomes baby Somack

Alex Meraz's wife Kim gave birth to baby Somack right after their photoshoot with photographer friend Iscah Trujillo. Trujillo shares his experience with the couple to Celebuzz.


"With every pregnancy there is something very beautiful," Iscah tells Celebuzz. "And they're so good together."

"Alex is so happy as a father," says Iscah. "He loves it. And you can really see the love come through."

The photoshoot is reminiscent of Demi Moore's famous Vanity Fair shoot and Britney Spears on the cover of Allure.

It came about when Alex and Kim were visiting the New Mexico ranch Iscah shares with her husband Raoul (Alex's longtime friend and mentor). Alex and Iscah had collaborated on photo projects and decided to do a shoot with the eight-month pregnant Kim. "They were very comfortable with each other and where they're at," says Iscah (Celebuzz has added the black bars for all-ages viewing). Click here to read more.

7 Things You Need to Know About 'New Moon' Wolf Alex Meraz

Everybody is wondering about Alex Meraz, the new hottie who joined the wolf pack in New Moon. Good thing Celebuzz sat down with his his mentor and friend, actor Raoul Trujillo who gave out all the gory details about this new hunk.

THE DUDE WORKS HARD: Nabbing the key role in Twilight was no fluke for the young actor. "If there's anyone I have known in my life that deserves this, it's Alex," says Trijillo. "He's worked his ass off in the time I have known him. He never lets up."

Beyond staying in top physical shape, the actor-student works hard on honing his craft, including his New Moon audition. "Alex drove from Phoenix to my ranch in New Mexico on his birthday weekend so I could help him with his audition," says Trujillo. "It's about 8 hours each way. But he knew he needed to get this done."

"He's humble," says Trujillo. "And he always showed that he was willing to listen and learn."

Even with those essentials, it took a lot of work, luck and talent to break through.

"New Moon happened to be there at the right time," says Trujillo. "This is his first big break. And what a break to have. This whole thing is a phenomena."

SORRY LADIES, HE'S MARRIED: Alex is madly in love with his Vietnamese-American wife Kim. They have a child named Somak (Trujillo is the god-parent). Kim was the one who was a true Twilight fan.

"His wife is the one who has read all of those books. And she's the one who said look, you have to got to get into this. This is perfect for you. You're the one."

FINALLY, HE'S RIPPED: "I sometimes have to tell him, 'I hate you, put your shirt on,' " says Trujillo.

"He's slender anyways and he has a body that just is that way. He doesn't even really work out because if he works out he gets huge. He's got these shoulders on him. It's from the martial arts and the break dancing. And he's one of those genetically gifted guy."

"They are going to have to get a trainer for everyone else on set or he is going to stand out like a sore thumb." Click here to read more.

Wolf Pack in Vancouver

Alex Meraz who plays Paul in New Moon was photographed in Vancouver last weekend. Taylor Lautner was also seen around Vancouver. According to LaineyGossip, Taylor and Kristen were running lines all weekend, prepping to begin shooting this week.







Robert Pattinson was running lines on Sunday too for a few hours. He has however for the most part shut himself in when not working out, apparently hasn’t ventured out much, prefers to be alone, politely declines invitations to go out, either getting into character or perhaps frightened by the loser twi-hards who’ve descended upon Vancouver to hunt him down?
